Our generosity can equip more than 3,000 children in eastern Missouri with the tools they need for a successful school year when we collect classroom essentials for the annual Adopt-A-Class School Supplies Drive. The supplies benefit children, teens, and families participating in Youth-in-Need’s early childhood development services, youth residential programs, foster care case management, in-school counseling, homeless street outreach, and before- and after-school youth development programs.

The “wish list” of items includes:

  • Binders
  • Book bags
  • Cleaning solvents
  • Colored pencils
  • Crayons (including jumbo sized)
  • Construction paper
  • Folders (especially plastic)
  • Games and puzzles
  • Glue and tape
  • Hand sanitizer and soap
  • Markers (washable, permanent, and dry-erase)
  • Paper towels and tissues
  • Paint (finger, tempura, watercolor) and brushes
  • Playground balls and jump roads
  • Pens and pencils
  • Puppets and international dolls
  • Scissors (child and adult)
  • Spiral and composition notebooks
  • Toothbrushes and tooth paste (child)

Please place your items on and around the small desk in the lobby under the bulletin board. You can also support this cause by making a 100% tax deductible cash donation which will be used to make bulk buys and discounted purchases. If you choose to do this, please use a pew envelope and mark the outside as “Youth in Need.”
